A Native American Heritage

We established Skenandore Native & Natural in 2001 because of our passion for health and healing. Our products are created with the utmost        care, guaranteeing you a consistent product with each purchase.

Wilma Skenandore, a Native American Indian, owns and operates the business.  Dena Skenandore, her daughter, works in the business as a licensed massage      therapist and Wilma’s assistant. Wilma’s husband, Francis R. Skenandore,  is an attorney; and he helps with legal and marketing efforts. Skenandore Native & Natural is based on the Oneida Nation Reservation in Oneida, Wis.

Wilma has an associate’s degree from Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kan.; a bachelor’s degree from Baker University in Baldwin,      Kan.; and a master’s degree in the Art of Teaching Home Economics from the University of New Mexico .

Wilma has the distinction of having been certified by Miami-based A-CAM  (Aromatherapy for Complementary and Alternative Medicine) as an aromatherapy      practitioner trained to formulate products using essential oils and herbs that are beneficial for various kinds of health problems. She also   has certificates of completion from Blue Sky Massage School for Aromatherapy and other certificates of completion in the art of healing herbs.

Dena has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison  and received certification in massage therapy from Blue Sky Massage School      in Grafton, Wis. She has also completed her National Board Certification for Massage Therapy. She’s extremely interested in the field and is learning more about essential oil and herb properties and is putting her skills to use by helping Wilma make Native & Natural products.

In addition to taking care of the legal aspects of the business, Francis researches which trade shows they should attend and spends time meeting  and learning from other vendors when he’s there. He has an associate’s      degree from Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kan.; a bachelor’s  degree from Kansas University; and a juris doctorate degree from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, N. M .

Together, we have a strong belief in the value of herbal and plant  medicines as well as aromatherapy products. We’re committed to teaching  the public about these topics and frequently hold educational workshops  to help people understand there’s a place for alternative Native American remedies alongside modern medical treatments. After all,   essential oils and herbs have been used since biblical times!
